History of the Accident Kit
In April 1994, Mr. W.E. Love, Jr., Chairman of the Board and Chief
Executive Officer of W.E. Love & Associates felt there was a need for an Accident Kit
to help reduce losses from truck accidents. W.E. Love
& Associates, Inc. is one of the premiere Managing General Agents in the country,
specializing in insurance programs for the trucking industry. With their network of
agents, they service a large segment of the trucking industry. At Mr. Love's direction,
Accident Kits were assembled for two trucking companies. Fifty of the prototype kits were
sent to a company in Limerick, PA and fifty were sent to a company in Oklahoma City, OK.
During the analysis period, a substantial savings was realized on claims in which the
Accident Kit was properly used. "Pictures Don't Lie"The results from the proper use of the Accident Kits convinced one of W.E. Love & Associates' larger insurance companies to agree to provide a custom Accident Kit for each truck insured through its network of agents. The first Accident Kits were placed into service in January of 1995. Today we provide Accident Kits directly to the trucks insured by four insurance companies, which provide coverage for both fleet and non-fleet truck operations. |
